Pentyrch
Pentyrch is situated about seven miles north west of Cardiff the capital city of Wales. The village is situated below the Garth mountain, but above Taffs Well and the A470.

The village centre contains a number of shops, including a newsagent, Spar, deli and butchers. Nearby is a playground, Horeb Presbyterian Chapel (currently closed), and the Lewis arms pub. The focus of older buildings in the village is around the Kings Arms pub, and St. Catwg's Church, at the lowest point of the village. Housing is split between older housing and large developments of 1980s housing, with newer developments on the outskirts.

Sport in the village is centred around the Pentyrch Rugby Football Club is a founder member of the Welsh Rugby Union. There is also a cricket pitch and other facilities at the club.

The village can be approached from the M4, Junction 32, then A470,and turn off to a reasonably steep hill. There is a quarry on this approach road, and a nature reserve runs up the side of the hill. Other access is from Cregiau and St Fagans villages, and via a minor road on the edge of the Garth from Gwaelod-y-Garth.
