Penthouse

In architecture, a penthouse is a building on the roof of another building, or alternatively, an apartment on the top floor of a building. See penthouse apartment. Some penthouses house machinery used to purify, heat, and cool air, pump water, and other utility functions; these are sometimes called mechanical penthouses.
