Over seven hundred student organizations exist http://www.clubs.psu.edu, as well as one of the largest greek systems in the country. Every February, thousands of students participate in the Penn State Dance Marathon, the largest student-run philanthropy in the world. Dancers dance for 48 hours straight, raising millions of dollars for pediatric cancer care and research. In 2005, the Penn State Blue Band was honored with the Sudler Trophy. The Trophy, which has been presented by the John Philip Sousa Foundation since 1982, is regarded as the nation's highest accolade for collegiate bands.
