Pen Argyl, Pennsylvania
Pen Argyl is a borough located in Northampton County, Pennsylvania, 18 miles (29 km) north of Easton. A plentiful supply of slate permitted the establishment of slate quarries, here. In the past, a shoe factory and a planing mill existed, too. In 1900, 2,784 people lived here, and in 1910, 3,967 people were at home in Pen Argyl. As of the 2000 census, the borough had a total population of 3,615.

Pen Argyl is the resting place of famous actress Jayne Mansfield. After a car accident, Jayne's family from the area requested to have her body laid to rest in a small cemetery on the borough's outskirts. Her heart-shaped gravestone is visible from the road as you pass by the cemetery.
