Peadar Kearney
Peadar Kearney (December 12, 1883 - November 1942) wrote the lyrics to Amhrán na bhFiann, the Irish national anthem, in 1907. His nephew Brendan Behan was a well-known Irish writer. There is a plaque on the wall on the west side of Dorset Street, Drumcondra Road, Dublin commemorating Kearney.

Other well known songs by Kearney include Erin Go Bragh, the text on the Irish Republic flag before the formation of the Irish Free State, later to become the Republic of Ireland.
