Paul McCoy


 

Paul McCoy, born in 1982, carries the lead vocals for the American Rock band "12 Stones", with guitarists Eric Weaver and Greg Trammell and drummer Aaron Gainer. In addition to vocals, Paul also plays rhythm guitar for the band.

The four band members met in Mandeville, La., a small suburb north of New Orleans, and within 15 months was signed to a record deal with Wind-Up Records. In reflection of their strong Christian backgrounds, the name of the band is significant to the twelve disciples that followed Jesus and taken metaphorically from the twelve stones in the Hoshen, a breastplate worn by the High Priest of Levitical order in the Old Testament.

On 12 Stones's second album, Potter's Field, Paul wrote the song "Photograph" in reaction to the suicide of his younger sister's friend. The song is about doing something to make your circumstances better instead of seeing death as a way out.
