Paul Green


 

Paul Green (17 March 1894 - 4 May 1981) American Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright. Born in Lillington, North Carolina and educated at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Cornell University, Green first attracted attention with his 1925 one-act play The No 'Count Boy which was produced by the New York Theatre Club. The next year his full-length play In Abraham's Bosom won the Pulitzer Prize. The play is remarkable for its depiction of Negros in the American South.
