Paul Gigot
Paul A. Gigot, a conservative political commentator, is the editor of the editorial pages in the Wall Street Journal. Following 14 years writing the collumn "Potomac Watch" at the Journal, Gigot was installed on Sept. 17, 2001 to his current position. His stead at the newspaper began in 1980, when he became a Journal reporter covering Chicago, soon becoming the paper's Asia correspondent in Hong Kong two years later. While in Hong Kong, Gigot was in 1984 placed in charge of the Journal's Asian paper, called the Asian Wall Street Journal. During the 1990s, he was a regular guest on the NewsHour with Jim Lehrer's weekly two-person political roundup, opposite Mark Shields, the regular liberal pundit.

Gigot's higher education was earned in Dartmouth College, at which he earned a B.A. degree with highest honors, and where he began his journalistic career chairing and writing for the student newspaper.
