Patty Fendick
An outstanding talent at University, Patty Fendick twice won the NCAA title, was ITA player of the year in 1987 and enjoyed a 57 match winning streak on the Stanford tennis team. She played on the WTA tour in the mid eighties and her all out attacking style won her several singles titles including three straight wins in Aukland from 1987-89.

After beating Czech star Jana Novotna at the Australian Opne in the early 90's, her opening quote at her press conference was 'Why do kamikazes wear helmets?' Down 6-1, she had decided to throw caution to the wind and won the match against all the odds.

Known for her trademark baseball cap and rapier wit as much as her energetic all court style, Patty Fendick-McCain had her first daughter in 2001 and is now coach of the Washington women's team.
