Passive

Passive has several meanings:

In grammar it describes a grammatical voice.
In electronics it describes components, circuits or pieces of equipment that perform no amplification and consume no power other than from the signal itself. See DI unit, electric guitar.
Passive is a song by A Perfect Circle from the album eMOTIVe and from the soundtrack of the movie Constantine.
In any sexual activity involving penetration, passive refers to the receiving party, and active to the penetrating one.

It is in all senses the opposite of active
