Party political broadcast

A party political broadcast is a short television or radio broadcast made by a political party.

In the United Kingdom, advertising on television or radio is illegal, but parties are instead allowed broadcasts. On a given day, a given party will be allowed to broadcast a piece a few minutes long. The order is determined by their popularity at previous elections, so the government goes first, followed by the main opposition party, followed by the second opposition party, etc.
