Pare Lorentz
Pare Lorentz was born Leonard MacTaggart Lorentz in Clarksburg, West Virginia on December 11, 1905. He began his career as an author and critic, but is best known as an American film director. He was the director of the United States Film Service from 1938-40, and produced documentary films including The Plow That Broke The Plains. He was a close friend of author, John Steinbeck.
