Palm Springs is a city located in Riverside County, California, USA. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 42,807. It is noted as a desert resort, approximately 110 miles east of Los Angeles. Palm Springs' resort features include some of the most famous golf courses in the country. It is one of eight adjacent cities that make up the Palm Springs area.

The dry desert heat of summer pushes daytime temperatures to above 100°F with overnight temperatures being in the mid to upper 70's
