Pacific Western University

Founded in 1977, Pacific Western University is approved by the California Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education under Code Section 94310. Approval under this section indicates that the institute has been visited and reviewed according to specific standards and that the curriculum is consistent in quality with curricula offered by appropriate established degree granting institutions within the State of California.

The US General Accounting Office presented the results of an eight month examination of diploma mills and federal employees holding their degrees to the Senate Committee on Governmental Affairs in May 2004. Pacific Western University was one of the six schools on which the investigation focused. The investigation made no conclusion about the validity of degrees granted by this institution, however, as Pacific Western University is validated by the California Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education.
