Ossie Schectman
Oscar B. "Ossie" Schectman (born March 30, 1919 in Kew Gardens, Queens, New York) is a former basketball player. He was a member of the Original New York Knickerbockers in their inaugural season in 1946/47. Schectman began his playing career at Tilden High School in Brooklyn and later played at Long Island University, at that time a powerhouse under coach Clair Bee.
