The public toilets are situated by the side of the Church Hall (which hosts book sales and tea sales on Sundays and Bank Holidays.) These toilets have been voted the best in the UK on several occasions. Filled with flowers and pictures of horses, they hold a vitally important role to the reputation of the village.

Another of this village's attractives is the excellently refurbished 'Thompsons'. This is a trip down memory lane to the pre-war England. This holds a gigantic selection of magazines dating from the early eighties due to a compulsive condition of the proprietor to over-stock. Osmotherley's other attractions include a 'Top-shop' store (where the locals buy their new Sunday-best suits), a classy Chip Shop, a Youth Hostel, two antique stores (famous for old forged photographs) and a newly opened Art and Craft Shop.
