Optician
An optician is a professional who makes and adjusts optical aids, including telescope optics and microscope lenses. Most often, however, this term is used to refer to the profession of providing eyeglass lenses from refraction prescriptions supplied by an ophthalmologist or optometrist. http://www.eyeglossary.net/

In the United States, an optician is licensed to fill the prescription ordered by an ophthalmologist or an optometrist. Many eye doctors do their own dispensing, and it is frequent for eye clinics to have an optician on their premises; or, conversely, for large optical chains to have optometrists in offices on their premises.

In the United Kingdom, opticians are categorized as either ophthalmic opticians or dispensing opticians. An ophthalmic optician is licensed to both determine and fill and eyeglasses prescription. A dispensing optician may only fill the prescription order by an ophthalmic optician (similar to an optometrist in the U.S.) or an ophthalmic medical practitioner (similar to an ophthalmologist in the U.S.).
