Oppland

Oppland is a county in Norway, bordering S?r-Tr?ndelag, M?re og Romsdal, Sogn og Fjordane, Buskerud, Akershus, Oslo and Hedmark. The county administration is in Lillehammer.

Oppland extends from the lakes Mj?sa and Randsfjorden to the mountains Dovrefjell, Jotunheimen and Rondane. The county includes the landscapes Gudbrandsdalen, Valdres, Toten, Hadeland and Land.

Oppland includes the cities Lillehammer, Gj?vik and Otta, and Norway's two highest mountains, Glittertind and Galdh?piggen.

A lot of museums and other attractions are situated here. Tourism is important to the economy; Valdres and Gudbrandsdalen being popular attractions. Gudbrandsdalen surrounds the river Gudbrandsdalsl?gen, and includes the villages ?yer, Dovre and Domb?s. Valdres includes the land extending from Jotunheimen down to Bagn at Begna river. It is a well known place for skiing and winter sports. The main built up places here are Beitost?len and Fagernes.
