Omega European Masters

The Omega European Masters is the Swiss stop on men's golf's European Tour, currently played in early September each year. It is the successor event to the Swiss Open, which was first played in 1923. In the 1971 event Baldovino Dassu became the first player to score 60 for 18 holes on the European Tour. The European Masters and the Swiss Open have been played at Crans-Sur-Sierre since at least 1971. The 2005 prize fund was ?1,700,000, which is on the low side of middling for a European Tour event.
