Olympic Peninsula
The Olympic Peninsula is the large arm of land in western Washington state that lies across Puget Sound from Seattle. It is bounded on the west by the Pacific Ocean, the north by the Strait of Juan de Fuca, and the east by Puget Sound and Hood Canal. Tatoosh Island, the westernmost point in the contiguous United States, is off the coast of the Peninsula, and the Peninsula is home to Port Angeles, Port Townsend, Olympic National Park, the Olympic Mountains, and the Hoh and Quinault rain forests.

From Olympia, the state capital, U.S. Highway 101 runs along the Olympic Peninsula's eastern, northern, and western shorelines.

Lakes on the peninsula include Lake Aldwell, Lake Crescent, Lake Mills, Lake Ozette, Lake Pleasant, Lake Quinault, and Lake Sutherland, and its rivers include the Bogachiel, the Dungeness, the Elwha, the Queets, the Quillayute, the Quinault, the Skokomish, and the Sol Duc.
