Oldtime
Oldtime is the common term for an American musical tradition ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ generally centered on the fiddle. Sometimes referred to as ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ string-band music, it is a descendant of British Isles styles coupled ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ with rhythmic influences from Africa. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ A typical oldtime band would include fiddle, open-back 5-string banjo, ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
