Ohio University

Ohio University is a public university located in Athens, Ohio, enrolling almost 20,000 students on its main 1,800 acre (7.3 km²) campus. It is the oldest college in Ohio. Its 285 undergraduate majors, as well as master's and doctoral programs are organized into 11 degree granting units:

Party School Reputation

Although currently ranked number 2 in the nation as a party school, the University is making great strides to increase the value of students' education and degrees by enforcing policy more strictly. The Halloween Party, once arguably the biggest weekend party in the United States, which brings in 30,000-40,000 outsiders annually, has become much tamer in recent years. University officials are working hard to make Ohio University known nationally for academics rather than partying.
