Ogunquit, Maine
Ogunquit is a town located in York County, Maine. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 1,226. Incorporated after splitting with neighboring Wells, Maine in 1980, Ogunquit thrives on its seasonal tourism economy. Some of its popular attractions include Perkin's Cove and Ogunquit Beach. It is also conveniently located near the neighboring tourist communities of York, Maine and Kittery, Maine. Over the years, Ogunquit has gained a reputation as a popular destination for gay and lesbian tourists, with its many gay-owned and operated hotels, restaurants, and bars.
