~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Ochakov (Crimean Tatar/Turkish: ?zi) is a town in Mykolaiv (Nikolaev) Oblast, in southern Ukraine, located near the site of ancient Greek colony of Olbia. The city lies at the Dnieper-Southern Bug estuary and on the Black Sea. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ The ?zi fortress that later became town Ochakov was built in 1492 by the Crimean khan Mengli Giray.
