Oakey, Queensland
Oakey is a rural town situated in the Darling Downs region of Queensland, Australia. It is situated 160 kilometres west of the state capital, Brisbane, and 29 kilometres west of the regional city of Toowoomba. Town population is approximately 4,000. Oakey is also the administrative centre of the Jondaryan Shire, which has a population of 13,229 persons (June 2002) and covers an area of 1906 square kilometres.
