Notting Hill is a district of London located to the west of the centre and close to the north-western corner of Hyde Park. It lies within the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.

Location

Notting Hill has never been an official parish, manor, postcode or other administratively defined area, but it is generally understood to be either:

• that part of the historic parish of Kensington (now the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea) which falls north of Notting Hill Gate (broadly corresponding to the London postcodes W11 and W10); or
• just the W11 postcode area (with the more northerly W10 area called North Kensington).
