Norwegian Wood (novel)
Norwegian Wood (ノルウェーの森 Noruwei no mori) is a 1987 novel by Japanese author Haruki Murakami.
Title
The original title, Noruwei no mori is a pun or an intentional mistranslation of the title of The Beatles song "Norwegian Wood" written by John Lennon (which is often mentioned in the plot); noruwei no mori means "Norwegian wood", but mori is the wood meaning "forest", not the material wood produced by chopping a tree.
