Northern Catalonia
Northern Catalonia (Catalan: Catalunya Nord; French: Catalogne Nord or Pays Catalan) is the name usually used to refer the part of the historic Principalty of Catalonia that is part of the state of France since the Treaty of the Pyrenees signed in 1659 between France and Spain.

This territory, part of the french Département of Pyrénées-Orientales includes the traditional comarques (minor regions roughly coincident with old counties) of Rosselló (French: Roussillon), Conflent, Vallespir, Capcir and half of Cerdanya (French: Cerdagne).
