North Hollywood High School is located the San Fernando Valley and enrolls approximately 4200 students each year.

It is most noted for the Happy Dead Tree located in the center of the school's open interior design.

North Hollywood High School is currently on a year round schedule. The school itself is split into many different academies, the most notable of which is the HGM, or Highly Gifted Magnet. Other academies include the Transportation Careers Academy (TCA), the Naturalist Academy, and the North Hollywood High School Biological Sciences Center, more commonly known as the Zoo Magnet.
