Norrbotten

Norrbotten is a Swedish province (landskap) in northernmost Sweden. It borders south to Västerbotten, west to Swedish Lappland, and east to Finland.

Unlike other provinces, Norrbotten became established following a county border (Norrbotten County) in 1810. As such, it did not have historical features such as a coat of arms, etc.

If an anglified name was to be given, it would be North Bothnia, where Bothnia is a Latinization of Botten. (Also used in e.g. the Gulf of Bothnia)
