Norma Desmond

Norma Desmond is the name of the main character in Sunset Boulevard. An aging, former silent movie star, the part was played on screen by Gloria Swanson, and in an Andrew Lloyd Webber stage musical by Elaine Paige (in London's West End), Glenn Close (on Broadway) and Petula Clark (on a US tour).
