Norm Chow


 

Norman Chow (???) (born May 3, 1946) is the offensive coordinator of the Tennessee Titans, a National Football League team. He has also been an offensive coordinator at the University of Southern California, North Carolina State University, and Brigham Young University. Chow won the 2002 Broyles Award as the nation's top assistant coach. He is known for developing quarterbacks such as Jim McMahon, Steve Young, Ty Detmer, Phillip Rivers and Carson Palmer. Chow is a native of Honolulu, Hawaii. He was an All-WAC guard at the University of Utah. He also played briefly in the Canadian Football League before an injury ended his professional athletic career.

Before going to the Titans, Norm Chow interviewed for the head coach position at Stanford. Although many thought he was a much better hire than the Cardinal's current coach, Walt Harris, Harris' connection to current Stanford althletic director won him the job. Chow would have been the only Asian-American head coach in college football.
