Nina Grewal and Ontario Liberal Ruby Dhalla, elected concurrently, are the first Sikh women to serve in the House of Commons. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ In 2005, Grewal's husband surreptiously taped discussions with the Liberal Party in which he raised the possibility might consider crossing the floor to the Liberals in exchange for patronage positions for the two of them.
