Niels Ryberg Finsen

Niels Ryberg Finsen (December 15, 1860 – September 24, 1904) was a Danish physician.

He was born on the Faroe Islands. Both his father (Hannes Steingrim Finsen) and mother (Johanne Fr?man) were born on Iceland.

In 1903 he won the Nobel Prize in Medicine for his important discoveries regarding light treatment of lupus vulgaris.
