Nicolas Sarkozy
Nicolas Paul Stéphane Sarközy de Nagy-Bocsa (born January 28, 1955, in Paris, 17th arrondissement), simply known as Nicolas Sarkozy ({{audio|Sarkozy.ogg|French pronunciation}}), is a French politician. He is often nicknamed Sarko by both his supporters and his opponents (this nickname is never used in any official context). While his supporters underline his charisma, very strong leadership and his many innovative initiatives, Sarkozy's opponents see him as populist, careerist and activist. He is known as an ubiquitous politician, active in almost all fields of politics and present on most talk shows and TV news. Many of his speeches are famous for their frankness, plain speaking and wit.

He is a probable contender for the French presidential election, 2007. His collaborators do not all agree that his return to the government in June of 2005 will help him in this, although it is widely recognised that his position, influence and popularity currently make him the third man at the country's head (after Jacques Chirac and Dominique de Villepin).
