Newbury Park, California
The community of Newbury Park, California is located in the western portion of the city of Thousand Oaks. It is roughly 50 miles from downtown Los Angeles.

Its historic Stagecoach Inn was used by people traveling from Los Angeles in the south to Santa Barbara in the north. It has been growing in population because of the biotechnology company Amgen, as well as numerous other businesses. Newbury Park High School has 1600 students, an Olympic size pool, and a newly refurbished football stadium.

Located in Ventura County, the community contains two major new growth residential areas, Rancho Conejo Village (built on the site of the former Rancho Conejo Airport, where portions of the film It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World were filmed) and Dos Vientos. The census designated place Casa Conejo, located in a rougly square-shaped unincorporated area of the city, is also considered to be part of Newbury Park.

Famous swing bandleader and clarinet player Artie Shaw lived in Newbury Park from 1978 till his death in 2004.
