New York Law School
New York Law School ("NYLS") is an independent law school located at the heart of Manhattan a couple miles north of the World Trade Center site. It is an American law school with over 1,500 students. NYLS' Manhattan location, in the midst of the country's largest concentration of government agencies, courts, law firms, banks, corporate headquarters, and securities exchanges, has shaped the NYLS' identity and curriculum.
Curriculum & Academic Centers
NYLS' curriculum is systematically designed with the goal to integrate the study of theory and practice and to include the perspectives of legal practitioners. To that end, NYLS established five academic centers each providing specialized study and offering an opportunity for exchange between the students and expert practitioners: Center for New York City Law, Center for International Law, Center for Professional Values and Practice, Institute for Information Law and Policy, and the Justice Action Center. Today, the five academic centers engage many of NYLS' students in advanced research through the newly established John Marshall Harlan Scholars Program.
