New Wafd Party
The New Wafd Party ("New Delegation Party"; Arabic: Hizb al-Wafd-al-Jadid) is a nationalist liberal party in Egypt. Its leader and 2005 Presidential candidate is Numan Gumaa. It was the main opposition party. At the last legislative elections, October and November 2000, the party won 7 out of 444 seats in the People's Assembly. Its candidate at the presidential election of 2005, Nunan Gumaa, is estimated to have received 5-7% of the vote.
