New Jersey Pinelands National Reserve (also known as Pinelands National Reserve) preserves the New Jersey Pine Barrens.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

The Pinelands is a unique ecosystem of historic villages and berry farms amid vast oak-pine forests (pine barrens), extensive wetlands, and diverse species of plants and animals. It is protected by state and federal legistlation through management by local, state, and federal governments and the private sector. The reserve contains Wharton State Forest, Lebanon State Forest and Bass River State Forest, which provide public recreation facilites.
