New Brunswick, New Jersey
New Brunswick is a city located in Middlesex County, New Jersey. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 48,573. It is the county seat of Middlesex County{{GR|6}}. The City of New Brunswick is governed under the Faulkner Act (Mayor-Council) system of municipal government.
History
Originally inhabited by the Lenape, New Brunswick was founded in the 17th century by early arrivals from Europe. Centrally located between New York City and Philadelphia, and situated along the Raritan River, New Brunswick became an important hub for Colonial travellers and traders.
