Nelson Township, Portage County, Ohio

Nelson Township is one of eighteen civil townships in Portage County, Ohio. It is located in the northeastern corner of the county, and borders the following other townships and municipalities:

Nelson Township is formed from the Connecticut Western Reserve. The village of Garrettsville, Ohio is formed, in part, from the southwestern corner of this township. As of 2000, there were 2,985 people in the township; this is up from 2,778 in 1990.
