Nelson Township, Portage County, Ohio
Nelson Township is one of eighteen civil townships in Portage County, Ohio. It is located in the northeastern corner of the county, and borders the following other townships and municipalities:

- Southington Township, Trumbull County, on the east;
- Braceville Township, Trumbull County, on the southeast
Nelson Township is formed from the Connecticut Western Reserve. The village of Garrettsville, Ohio is formed, in part, from the southwestern corner of this township. As of 2000, there were 2,985 people in the township; this is up from 2,778 in 1990. (Note: The U.S. Census Bureau counts township populations in the Connecticut Western Reserve as distinct from any municipalities located within the township.
