Neil Paterson
Dr. Neil Paterson was the leader of the Natural Law Party of Canada, a now-defunct political party that was the political arm of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's Transcendental Meditation movement.

Paterson led the party through the three elections in which it nominated candidates: the 1993, 1997 and 2000 federal elections. The party never won a seat in Parliment, nor came close to doing so.

Paterson was, at times, eclipsed by magician Doug Henning, who was a prominent spokesperson for the party, but was never the leader.

Paterson unsuccessfully sought election to the Canadian House of Commons in the Ottawa Centre electoral district, winning 328 votes in 1993, 211 in 1997, and 110 in 2000.
