~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Necaxa was founded August 21, 1923 with the support of the Compa??a de Luz, from which they drew a nickname, the "Electricistas". They were very successful in the early days of the Mexican league, winning championships in the 1932-33, 1934-35, 1936-37, and 1937-38 seasons. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Necaxa's fortunes declined after the professionalization of the Mexican league following the 1942-43 season, as they were excluded from the newly formed, 10-team Liga Mayor.
