National Security (movie)

This 2003 joint Columbia/Sony release starring Martin Lawrence & Steve Zahn. It opened to across the borders on January 17 2003. It received poor reviews and is considered a flop.

The main premise is about two men, one a cop, the other a wannabe cop, who somehow, through a whole slew of events, manage to meet up and team together to stop a smuggler (played by Eric Roberts). Hank Rafferty, played by Zahn, hates Lawrence's character, Earl Montgomery, for lying about him beating him up. This subsequently lead him to lose his job as a cop and spend six months in jail. Despite the fact that Hank hates Earl, which leads to a lot of funny scenes, they make for an excellent crime-fighting duo.
