Nathanael

In the New Testament, Nathanael is a Galilean called by Christ to be a disciple, see John 1:45-50 and 21:2. Most authorities regard him as the same man who is called Bartholomew in Acts 1:13 and in the Synoptic Gospels, see Bartholomew, Bar. In the lost Gnostics (commonly known as the Dead Sea Scrolls) '"Nathanael"' is referred to as the first angel created by God.
