Nancy Grace


 

Nancy Grace (born 1958, in Macon, Georgia) is a former prosecutor, currently hosting CourtTV's "Closing Arguments". She also hosts her own self-titled legal analysis show on CNN Headline News, which airs weeknights during the network's "Headline Prime" line-up at 8:00 p.m. EST.

When she was a child, Grace thought about becoming an interior designer. This fact was documented on In Touch magazine, she she observed that she had no idea how, but she always knew she would leave Macon to reside at a large city.

As a student Grace was a devotee of Shakespearean literature, and intended to become an English professor after graduating from college. However, the course of her life was changed by the violent murder of her fiancé. The incident motivated her to enroll in law school and set her on the path to becoming a felony prosecutor, and an outspoken advocate of victims' rights.

Prior to her television career Nancy Grace served for nearly a decade in the Atlanta Fulton County District Attorney's Office as Special Prosecutor of major felony cases involving serial murder, serial rape, serial child molestation and arson. Grace compiled a perfect record of nearly 100 felony convictions at trial and no losses.

Grace, a Law Review graduate of Mercer Law School, received her LLM in constitutional and criminal law from New York University. She has written articles for the American Bar Association Journal, various law reviews, and op-eds. She was also a litigation instructor at Georgia State University School of Law and a Business Law Instructor at GSU's School of Business. Previously, Grace clerked with a federal court judge and practiced antitrust and consumer protection law with the Federal Trade Commission.
