Nadir
Nadir may refer to any of the following:

- Nadir Shah, a Shah of Persia from 1736 to 1747
- Asil Nadir, the Turkish Cypriot founder of the failed Polly Peck business empire and fugitive businessman involved in the downfall of Michael Mates
- the nadir, with an altitude of -90°, is opposite the zenith in the horizontal coordinate system; that is, the invisible point vertically downward. This term is also used symbolically when describing a low point, as in "…the nadir of the war…"
- the Nadir, a fictional tribe in the book Legend by David Gemmell
- the "nadir" may refer to the nadir of American race relations, a period from the end of Reconstruction to the 1920s, when, according to many scholars, racism in the U.S. was more virulent than at any other point in history.
- The nadir line is the line traced on the ground directly beneath an aircraft while taking aerial photographs of the ground from above. This line connects the image centers of the successive vertical photographs. These photographs are generallly taken with some degree of endlap.
