N?blus (sometimes N?bulus; Arabic: {{Audio|ArNablus.ogg|نابلس}}; pronounced Naablus) ( Hebrew: {{Audio|He-Shchem.ogg|שכם}}; pronounced "Shkhem" {{Unicode|}}); {{coor dm|32|13|N|35|16|E|}}) is a major city in the West Bank and, with a population of over 100,000, is one of the largest Palestinian population centers in the Middle East. http://www.pnic.gov.ps/english/geography/Residential_Nablus.html.Shechem is also an alternative English name for the city, though less common than Nablus. The city lies 63 km north of Jerusalem, between Mount Ebal and Mount Gerizim. Ancient Shechem is located in the eastern part of the modern city, in a site known as Tal Balatah. An ancient city with a rich history, N?blus is a site of religious significance to the three major Abrahamic faiths, and is also a scene of political instability related to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.{{clearleft}}
