Murder City Devils


 

Murder City Devils was a punk rock band active between 1996 and 2001. The band's line-up as at its final concert was:

  • Vocals: Spencer Moody
  • Guitar: Dan Galluci
  • Bass: Derek Fudesco
  • Drums: Coady Willis
  • Guitar & bass: Nate Manny (Manny played based for a series of dates when Fudesco broke his leg on tour.)
  • Keyboard: Leslie Hardy (Was filled in for by Nick Dewiit for the last tour, except a date in Spain that they played with no keys)
  • Roadie: Gabe
  • The band's original lineup consisting of Moody, Galluci, Fudesco, Willis and Manny formed in Seattle, Washington in 1997. Within a year, the band had released two singles Three Natural Sixes and Dance Hall Music and signed up with the "Die Young Stay Pretty" label, a subsidiary of Sub Pop. The self-titled debut album was released in 1998.

    In 1999, the band released Empty Bottles, Broken Hearts its second album and recruited Hardy, a former member of Hole before commencing a year long tour of North America. During that tour, they played with Built to Spill and At the Drive-In.

    After a short break, the band released In Name and Blood, with photos in the liner notes notoriously depicting every member as a murder victim. The band released the Thelema EP in 2001 before breaking up later that year. The band's final concert on Halloween was recorded and released by Sub Pop in 2003.
