Mujahideen

Mujahideen ({{lang-ar|مجاهدين}}, also transliterated as mujāhidīn, mujahedeen, mujahedin, mujahidin, mujaheddin, etc.) is a plural form of mujahid ({{lang|ar|مجاهد}}), which literally means "struggler", someone who engages in jihad, or "struggle", but is often translated as "holy warrior". In the late twentieth century, the term "mujahideen" became popular in the media to describe various armed fighters who subscribe to Islamist ideologies, although there is not always an explicit "holy" or "warrior" meaning within the word.

Mujahideen in Bosnia

During the clashes in Bosnia that flamed upon the breakup of Yugoslavia, forces of Bosnian Muslims got significant financial and military aid from Islamic countries. This military aid was sent in form of experienced mujajideen troops that were organized in special units (like El Mujahid), that are known for their war crimes committed in Bosnia. Certain number of these mujahideen fighters stayed in Bosnia when the war ended. They attained Bosnian citizenship, and are now living in several villages throughout Bosnia, where life is organized after the Islamic laws. It is known that there are mujahideen bases around Bosnian town of Zenica, and in villages near Brcko. These mujahideens had recruited a certain number of people from local population, which are today the base of so called White Al-Qaeda ? Islamist terrorists that present serious treat for western countries since because of their pale complexion it is easier for them to blend in, without being suspicious.
